General description: dark reddish-brown heartwood with lighter shading and distinct ribbon pattern on radially cut surfaces, clearly distinguishable pink sapwood with greyish or yellowish tones; wavy grain producing violin-like shapes, fine texture.

Uses: In boat-building for the construction of furniture and interior walls.
