General description: dark reddish brown heartwood with lighter shadings of clear ribbon shapes on radially cut surfaces, clearly distinguishable pinkish sapwood with grey or yellow tones; linear grain with well-defined veining.

Uses: fine furniture and cabinetry, joinery, office and shop furniture, solid wood doors; musical instruments,?sporting equipment; boat-building, flooring, work benches.
