General description: dark brown to salmon pink heartwood, becomes reddish-brown on seasoning; over time turns silvery grey (the aged effect is often in demand by architects). Straight grain, quite coarse texture. Exhibits a clearly visible growth ring shape.

Uses: green-houses, warehouses, shingles, interior finishings, tables; exterior panelling, bee hives, poles, posts, fences.
