General description: yellowish-white colour with reddish shading (the core of the biggest trees can be dark brown); usually??a straight grain, but sometimes wavy and curly, fine and regular texture. Radially cut surfaces show a pleasing growth ring shape made up of thin brown lines.

Uses: heavy duty flooring, furniture, panelling, spools for textile machinery; shoe supports, piano piece mechanisms, musical instruments;sporting equipment, butcher blocks; decorative panelling.
