General description: reddish brown to dark brown heartwood (hence the trade name Red and Brown Elm), thin sapwood from greyish white to light chestnut.?With marked veins, the grain can be straight, but?often interlocked.

Uses: generally furnishings (cabinets, chair and sofa frames, wood turning, home flooring, internal finishes); coffins,?lidding planks; engineered veneer for decorative panelling.
